Triple Threat Academy’s Independent Film Project (IFP) brings Hollywood to Westport, giving a small group of participants the opportunity to experience making an independent short film. During this two-week program, students learn all aspects of filmmaking, both acting in front of the camera and apprenticing in various roles behind the camera with a professional crew. Each cast member will receive professional footage for their acting reel. Triple Threat's 2022 short film, "Lux Freer," won numerous awards on the film fest circuit (including Best USA Film and Best Director in NY's Cinematography Awards) and made its world premiere at Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival; screened at the prestigious Dances With Films festival in L.A. and NY (bravo to fellow DWF filmmaker for their recent Oscar win for "Red, White, and Blue"), and won Outstanding Narrative Short Film at the Ridgefield Independent Film Fest. Our 2023 films are hitting the fest circuit now and the student-written and directed "Ocean's 14" has already nabbed several awards.
